Teen Challenge
Teen Challenge UK is a registered charity and operates nationally to help young people who have developed life controlling problems, especially drug and alcohol addictions, and also to offer preventative help to those who may be in danger of doing so.
Teen Challenge UK started in the late Seventies and now works in fifteen locations in England, Wales, Northern Ireland and Scotland. Teen Challenge London and Teen Challenge Strathclyde grew out of Teen Challenge UK and are now affiliated works.
They believe that everybody deserves another chance. The ministry is built on and driven by Christian values and beliefs which clearly show how precious and loved each human being is. Teen Challenge seeks to take that message to young people whose lives are messed up, who have lost all sense of self worth, self esteem and often the will to live. Victory Outreach
First Phase. This is a faith-based project providing supported housing to individuals in the United Kingdom who have suffered through life controlling circumstances such as substance misuse, involvement in crime, violence and other anti-social behaviour. They offer a structured planned package which includes life skills training, support planning, work projects, inspirational studies and recreational activities. The objective is to encourage and assist their residents towards achieving the goal of independent living.
Second Phase. This phase assists the resident in progressing towards finding stable, ongoing employment, further education and restoration of the family. Once the service user becomes independent, they continue to receive ongoing support beyond their residency. Victory Outreach
Betel of Britain
Betel of Britain is a group of caring, not-for-profit Christian communities in the heart of the UK dedicated to restoring homeless and long-term unemployed people to healthy, independent lifestyles. They train men and women in a wide range of life and employment skills, enabling them to rebuild a strong work ethic. All of their residences are drug- and alcohol-free and totally free of charge (Refer to website for ‘Admission Procedures’ for more details). Dream Centre Los Angeles
Services and programs offered include residential rehabilitation programs for teens and adults, a shelter for victims of human trafficking, a transitional shelter for homeless families, mobile hunger relief and medical programs, and a foster care intervention outreach that works closely with Los Angeles County’s Department of Children and Family Services to keep families intact by delivering the required furnishings, clothing and food to assure that their homes meet DCFS standards. Educational development programs such as adult basic education, job skills training and life skills counselling to homeless families and individuals continue to establish The Dream Centre as a vital community development resource.
